How Direct to
Film Transfers Work
The direct to film process prints your artwork in reverse onto a polyester transfer film, then coats it with a hot-melt adhesive powder that's cured under heat. When you press the film onto your garment, the adhesive bonds permanently to the fibres and you peel the film away to reveal the finished print.
Because the design adheres to the surface of the fabric rather than soaking into it, direct-to-film prints retain their full colour vibrancy even on dark garments. There's no need for an underbase, no need for separate colour layers, and no minimum order. One sheet or one thousand, the process is identical.

Direct to Film Order
Submit a print-ready gang sheet through our website: PDF or PNG, 300 DPI minimum, transparent background. We don't charge setup or artwork fees, and we don't impose minimums. Orders placed by 3pm Melbourne time are printed and dispatched the same business day from our Officer, VIC workshop.
Delivery runs Australia-wide through Australia Post and major couriers. Regular post starts at $12.95, express at $17.95, with optional postage insurance for larger orders. If you're local to Melbourne's south-east, pick-up from Officer skips postage entirely and gets transfers in your hands the same afternoon.

Please ensure your artwork meets these specifications before submitting to avoid any delays.
PDF or PNG Format Only
We only accept PDF or PNG files. JPEG, AI, PSD, and other formats cannot be processed. Convert your artwork before uploading.
Minimum 300 DPI Resolution
Your file must be at least 300 DPI at full print size. Lower resolution files will appear pixelated in the final print.
Transparent Background
Artwork must have a transparent background, not white. A white background will print as white ink on the transfer film.
Minimum 1mm Line Width
Fine details smaller than 1mm may not reproduce clearly at print. Minimum text size is 6pt at final print dimensions.
Full Size (1:1 Scale)
Set up your artwork at the actual intended print size — not scaled down. We print what you send, at the size you specify.
What We Cannot Print
Neon / Fluorescent Colours —not achievable with our CMYK-based ink system
Metallic / Foil Effects —we do not offer metallic or specialty foil inks
Fade-outs to Transparent —white underbase creates a hard edge on transparent fades
JPEG / Low-Resolution Files —will not be accepted due to quality concerns
